Privacy Policy

This policy describes what LocalShield.cloud ("we", "us") collects, why, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect

• Account data: your email address and a cryptographic hash of your password (we never store the password itself).
• Usage data: the scans you run (job title, county, results limit), reports you claim, and notice statuses.
• Payment data: payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers — we keep only the plan, invoice records, a masked card reference, and your Stripe customer identifier.
• Public posting data: the Service scans publicly available job posting text (e.g., from Craigslist) that you or other users direct it to. This may include business names and publicly listed contact emails.
• Emails: transactional emails we send (verification, password reset) are logged for delivery troubleshooting.

2. What We Do NOT Do

• We do not sell or rent your personal information.
• We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies. The only cookie we set is a session cookie required for sign-in.
• We do not share your data with third parties except Stripe (payments) and our email provider (transactional email delivery).

3. How We Use Information

To operate the Service: authenticate you, run and store your compliance scans, process subscriptions, send transactional email, and respond to correction requests from businesses named in reports.

4. Businesses Named in Audit Reports

Audit reports are generated from publicly posted job listings. If your business is named in a report and you want it corrected or removed, email alerts@localshield.cloud — we review all requests promptly. Publicly listed contact emails found in postings are used only to let our subscribers contact the poster about the specific listing; we do not sell contact lists.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Account and scan data are retained while your account is active. To delete your account and associated personal data, email alerts@localshield.cloud from your account address; we will delete it within 30 days, except records we must keep for tax or legal purposes (e.g., invoices).

6. Your California Privacy Rights

California residents may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal information, and will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Submit requests to alerts@localshield.cloud. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA.

7. Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are stored as hashes. No system is perfectly secure; notify us immediately at alerts@localshield.cloud if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
